Charles Phillips, Infor: All Set for Next-Gen Applications Launch

This  2011, top software vendor Infor is set to ship out next-generation applications for the mid-sized market. Always the innovators, Infor will send out software with a common user interface, portal, business intelligence tools and collaboration technologies to incorporate services from all of its major product lines. The company has also aligned itself closely with Microsoft, a move which includes close collaboration, business intelligence, identity management, and rich Internet applications. And to support its aggressive stance, Infor has invited ex-Oracle president Charles Phillips to become part of the team as its new CEO. According to company officials, the Charles Phillips-Infor tandem will surely rev up their next-gen applications campaign. Outgoing CEO Jim Schaper, is among the supporters of Phillips, saying that the former Oracle boss is a proven leader who has the diverse skill set, direct industry experience, and track record of performance necessary to lead Infor in the coming years. Schaper will leave his post as CEO but will still serve as chairman of the company. As one of the leading enterprise applications companies worldwide, Infor currently enjoys above average annual revenue growth. Charles Phillips, Infor’s newest executive, is keen on continuing the momentum started by
Jim Schaper. In a statement issued upon his appointment, Phillips said that he is raring to go and take charge of Infor as the company prepares for a new set of growth initiatives. Often regarded as a true visionary, Phillips may already be planning Infor’s next steps,
especially in the area of acquisition. It will be interesting to find out where Infor goes from here.
